Tired of Being Your Parents IT Support?

I have a small and nagging problem. It’s my mother, and her utter lack of any expertise with the computer…bless her heart. You see, she’s stuck in the Windows XP world, waiting too many minutes to start up the machine and the constant crashes, bog downs and useless crap. It’s no surprise [...]

I found this Green Lantern trailer on YouTube and was absolutely amazed. Why? Because it is completely fake. It was put together using a series of movie clips from Star Trek, Lord of the Rings and Serenity to name a few. The guy then adds his own computer effects and puts in a little movie trailer music (I think [...]

Well here’s your thread to ask! Something been nagging you? Didn’t understand what happened in a particular scene or video? Submit your question below…
We’ll start off with [...]
Great, Add Another Apple Fanboy

I bit the bullet. Being the only fuddy member who was stuck in the PC/Microsoft world, it proved frustrating at times with compressed video done with the Apple Intermediate Codec which is only available on Macs. Other annoyances, like both Dave and Erik’s smugness that comes along with being a new Mac owner. [...]

Okay, you’ve got a blog or a website and you want to embed the high quality version of a YouTube video you saw, but there’s no option for that in the settings.
Here’s how to do it:
Copy the embed code
Paste it into your post or site
Add this string to the end of the video location (IN [...]
New YouTube Widescreen Settings
Posted by Ryan Northcott in Techy Stuff, YouTube on 11. Dec, 2008 | 0 Comments
Recently YouTube changed it video size to a whopping 640×285, which is cool because it allows for users to have a richer experience watching videos.
With the change however, export settings should change on the publisher side. We some experimentation and found a really nice setting output that we seem to like. Check out [...]
Brightcove Ending Free Service

We just received an email from the people at Brightcove that the free service they were offering is now ending.
Dear FuddyTV,
We’re sending you this email because you created or used at least one free Brightcove Network account during the last two years.
Regretfully, we’ve decided to discontinue the Brightcove Network (the free version of our service). [...]
Rollback iTunes 8

I despise, absolutely despise iTunes 8.
Bloated, heavy on resources and introducing the Genius Bar (otherwise known as the Spend More Money Bar).
My biggest pet peeve about iTunes 8 is the inability to play all my songs. All I want in iTunes is a big list of songs of which I can play, but that’s [...]
Microsoft Should Change its Name

I feel bad for Microsoft.
The Seinfeld commercial experiment was a bomb (though I thought it was clever), Vista is bashed and the Zune is laughed at. It seems the only thing Microsoft hasn’t been lambasted for is the XBOX, and even then the red circle of death is a black mark on that.
With all [...]
YouTube Facing a Trainwreck

YouTube could be potentially facing a very big trainwreck. The ramifications of which could cost YouTube visitors, content uploaders and most importantly advertisers. The trainwreck is this:
If your user can’t watch the video, why would they go?
I recently ran into a problem where I logged into our FuddyTV.com account on YouTube only to [...]
